Our Mission

Paws and Claws Humane Services, Inc.

To Help injured, abused, and homeless animals.

To return the animals to their rightful owners or to find homes for the animlals if possible.

To educate the public regarding the importance of spaying and neutering pets and to promote/organize spay and neuter programs.

To educate citizens as to humane animal care.

To involve the governing authority of WIllkinson County and the governing authoritities of the municipalitiies located in the county in the promotion of the humane treatment of animals and the importance of spaying and neutering pets.

To aid local law enforcement with investigations of suspected neglect, cruelty, or abandonment of animals.

To work towards the establishment of a suitable shelter for abandoned, neglected, or unwanted animals, which shall not be operated as a kiling facility for such animals.

Director

Scott is a Sr. Field Safety Professional for AMERISAFE Worker’s Compensation Insurance, He has over 20 years of experience in the safety industry and a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety. Scott holds various certifications from prominent organizations such as MSHA, OSHA, and the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, he has consistently demonstrated a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety in the workplace.

Scott's love for animals, particularly dogs, has led him to become an integral part of Paws and Claws Humane Services, Inc. He joined the board in 2021 and quickly became a voice for animal welfare. His dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of abandoned, abused, and neglected animals is evident in every endeavor he undertakes.

In December 2023, Scott was elected as the Chairman of Paws and Claws Humane Services, Inc. In this role, he is working collaboratively with board members to secure grants and private funding for the spay & neuter program and the development of the Martha F. Cannon Animal Shelter in Irwinton, GA.

Scott's vision is to complete the Martha F. Cannon Animal Shelter to serve the citizens of Wilkinson County, GA. He envisions a safe and healthy facility that not only rescues animals but also provides them with a nurturing environment. Scott believes in the transformative power of a well-built shelter to uplift the lives of abandoned and mistreated animals in Wilkinson County.
